Canoe Creek State Park Education Center

6:00 PM – dark. Meet at the RANGER STATION.

We will walk around Canoe Creek SP in search of “the shorebird that abandoned the shore”, the American Woodcock. Early spring is the perfect time to locate this incredible bird as it performs its elaborate displays at dusk and dawn around wet forested areas. At this location, we had several American Woodcocks displaying last year, and several flew right over us!

WHAT TO BRING: binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, drink, or snack if desired.
