Some birds commonly classified as non-migratory actually engage in migratory behavior in some instances. This talk will mostly focus on White-breasted Nuthatches, but will also discuss Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Northern Cardinals, and a few other honorable mentions.
Presenter Joe Gyekis is a health science teacher at Penn State and an avid birder. He’s a member of the Penn State Avian Education Committee and the State College Bird Club. He is especially interested in local patch birding, bird window collisions, nocturnal flight calls, and migration of small landbirds.
