David Muñoz, a graduate student in wildlife science at Penn State University, is currently researching the population dynamics of a terrestrial salamander species under potential climate change conditions. Originally from North Carolina, he was worked on the conservation of amphibians and mammals in the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest. His presentation will highlight the current extinction crisis occurring for amphibians and some of the potential causes being documented by scientists. In addition, he will discuss opportunities for citizen scientists to become involved in monitoring amphibians, and some of the habitats and species that can be found in Pennsylvania.
